25:1	[hb5]	亞瑪謝登基的時候、年二十五歲、在耶路撒冷作王二十九年．他母親名叫約耶但、是耶路撒冷人。
	[kjv]	Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
	[bbe]	Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for twenty-nine years; his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
25:2	[hb5]	亞瑪謝行耶和華眼中看為正的事、只是心不專誠。
	[kjv]	And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart.
	[bbe]	He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but his heart was not completely true to the Lord.
25:3	[hb5]	國一堅定、就把殺他父王的臣僕殺了、
	[kjv]	Now it came to pass, when the kingdom was established to him, that he slew his servants that had killed the king his father.
	[bbe]	Now when he became strong in the kingdom, he put to death those men who had taken the life of the king his father.
25:4	[hb5]	卻沒有治死他們的兒子、是照摩西律法書上耶和華所吩咐的、說、不可因子殺父、也不可因父殺子、各人要為本身的罪而死。
	[kjv]	But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.
	[bbe]	But he did not put their children to death, for he kept the orders of the Lord recorded in the book of the law of Moses, saying, The fathers are not to be put to death for their children or the children for their fathers, but a man is to be put to death for the sin which he himself has done.
25:5	[hb5]	亞瑪謝招聚猶大人、按著猶大和便雅憫的宗族、設立千夫長、百夫長．又數點人數、從二十歲以外、能拿槍拿盾牌、出去打仗的精兵、共有三十萬。
	[kjv]	Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and made them captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, according to the houses of their fathers, throughout all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and above, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, that could handle spear and shield.
	[bbe]	Then Amaziah got all Judah together and put them in order by their families, even all Judah and Benjamin, under captains of thousands and captains of hundreds: and he had those of twenty years old and over numbered, and they came to three hundred thousand of the best fighting-men, trained for war and in the use of the spear and the body-cover.
25:6	[hb5]	又用銀子一百他連得、從以色列招募了十萬大能的勇士。
	[kjv]	He hired also an hundred thousand mighty men of valour out of Israel for an hundred talents of silver.
	[bbe]	And for a hundred talents of silver, he got a hundred thousand fighting-men from Israel.
25:7	[hb5]	有一個神人來見亞瑪謝、對他說、王阿、不要使以色列的軍兵與你同去、因為耶和華不與以色列人以法蓮的後裔同在。
	[kjv]	But there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with thee; for the LORD is not with Israel, to wit, with all the children of Ephraim.
	[bbe]	But a man of God came to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with you; for the Lord is not with Israel, that is, the children of Ephraim.
25:8	[hb5]	你若一定要去、就奮勇爭戰罷．但　神必使你敗在敵人面前、因為　神能助人得勝、也能使人傾敗。
	[kjv]	But if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.
	[bbe]	But go yourself, and be strong in war; God will not let you go down before those who are fighting against you; for God has power to give help or to send you down before your attackers.
25:9	[hb5]	亞瑪謝問神人說、我給了以色列軍的那一百他連得銀子怎麼樣呢．神人回答說、耶和華能把更多的賜給你。
	[kjv]	And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.
	[bbe]	Then Amaziah said to the man of God, But what is to be done about the hundred talents which I have given for the armed band of Israel? And the man of God in answer said, God is able to give you much more than this.
25:10	[hb5]	於是亞瑪謝將那從以法蓮來的軍兵分別出來、叫他們回家去．故此他們甚惱怒猶大人、氣忿忿地回家去了。
	[kjv]	Then Amaziah separated them, to wit, the army that was come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again: wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in great anger.
	[bbe]	So Amaziah, separating the armed band which had come to him from Ephraim, sent them back again; which made them very angry with Judah, and they went back burning with wrath.
25:11	[hb5]	亞瑪謝壯起膽來、率領他的民到鹽谷、殺了西珥人一萬。
	[kjv]	And Amaziah strengthened himself, and led forth his people, and went to the valley of salt, and smote of the children of Seir ten thousand.
	[bbe]	Then Amaziah took heart, and went out at the head of his people and came to the Valley of Salt, where he put to death ten thousand of the children of Seir;
25:12	[hb5]	猶大人又生擒了一萬帶到山崖上、從那裡把他們扔下去、以致他們都摔碎了。
	[kjv]	And other ten thousand left alive did the children of Judah carry away captive, and brought them unto the top of the rock, and cast them down from the top of the rock, that they all were broken in pieces.
	[bbe]	And ten thousand more the children of Israel took living, and made them go up to the top of the rock, pushing them down from the top of the rock so that their bodies were broken by the fall.
25:13	[hb5]	但亞瑪謝所打發回去、不許一同出征的那些軍兵、攻打猶大各城、從撒瑪利亞直到伯和崙、殺了三千人、搶了許多財物。
	[kjv]	But the soldiers of the army which Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah, from Samaria even unto Bethhoron, and smote three thousand of them, and took much spoil.
	[bbe]	But the men of the band which Amaziah sent back and did not take with him to the fight, made attacks on the towns of Judah from Samaria to Beth-horon, putting to death three thousand of their people and taking away a great store of their goods.
25:14	[hb5]	亞瑪謝殺了以東人回來、就把西珥的神像帶回、立為自己的神、在他面前叩拜燒香。
	[kjv]	Now it came to pass, after that Amaziah was come from the slaughter of the Edomites, that he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them, and burned incense unto them.
	[bbe]	Now when Amaziah came back from the destruction of the Edomites, he took the gods of the children of Seir and made them his gods, worshipping them and burning offerings before them.
25:15	[hb5]	因此、耶和華的怒氣向亞瑪謝發作、就差一個先知去見他、說、這些神不能救他的民脫離你的手、你為何尋求他呢。
	[kjv]	Wherefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand?
	[bbe]	And so the wrath of the Lord was moved against Amaziah, and he sent a prophet to him, who said, Why have you gone after the gods of the people who have not given their people salvation from your hands?
25:16	[hb5]	先知與王說話的時候、王對他說、誰立你作王的謀士呢．你住口罷、為何找打呢．先知就止住了．又說、你行這事不聽從我的勸戒、我知道　神定意要滅你。
	[kjv]	And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the king's counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.
	[bbe]	But while he was talking to him the king said to him, Have we made you one of the king's government? say no more, or it will be the cause of your death. Then the prophet gave up protesting, and said, It is clear to me that God's purpose is your destruction, because you have done this and have not given ear to my words.
25:17	[hb5]	猶大王亞瑪謝與群臣商議、就差遣使者去見耶戶的孫子約哈斯的兒子以色列王約阿施說、你來、我們二人相見於戰場。
	[kjv]	Then Amaziah king of Judah took advice, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us see one another in the face.
	[bbe]	Then Amaziah, king of Judah, acting on the suggestion of his servants, sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us have a meeting face to face.
25:18	[hb5]	以色列王約阿施差遣使者去見猶大王亞瑪謝說、利巴嫩的蒺藜、差遣使者去見利巴嫩的香柏樹、說、將你的女兒給我兒子為妻．後來利巴嫩有一個野獸經過、把蒺藜踐踏了。
	[kjv]	And Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.
	[bbe]	And Joash, king of Israel, sent to Amaziah, king of Judah, saying, The thorn-tree in Lebanon sent to the cedar in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son for a wife: and a beast from the woodland in Lebanon went by, crushing the thorn under his feet.
25:19	[hb5]	你說、看哪、我打敗了以東人、你就心高氣傲、以致矜誇．你在家裡安居就罷了、為何要惹禍使自己和猶大國一同敗亡呢。
	[kjv]	Thou sayest, Lo, thou hast smitten the Edomites; and thine heart lifteth thee up to boast: abide now at home; why shouldest thou meddle to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
	[bbe]	You say, See, I have overcome Edom; and your heart is lifted up with pride: now keep in your country; why do you make causes of trouble, putting yourself, and Judah with you, in danger of downfall?
25:20	[hb5]	亞瑪謝卻不肯聽從．這是出乎　神、好將他們交在敵人手裡、因為他們尋求以東的神。
	[kjv]	But Amaziah would not hear; for it came of God, that he might deliver them into the hand of their enemies, because they sought after the gods of Edom.
	[bbe]	But Amaziah gave no attention; and this was the purpose of God, so that he might give them up into the hands of Joash, because they had gone after the gods of Edom.
25:21	[hb5]	於是以色列王約阿施上來、在猶大的伯示麥與猶大王亞瑪謝相見於戰場。
	[kjv]	So Joash the king of Israel went up; and they saw one another in the face, both he and Amaziah king of Judah, at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.
	[bbe]	And so Joash, king of Israel, went up; and he and Amaziah, king of Judah, came face to face at Beth-shemesh in Judah.
25:22	[hb5]	猶大人敗在以色列人面前、各自逃回家裡去了。
	[kjv]	And Judah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fled every man to his tent.
	[bbe]	And Judah was overcome before Israel, and they went in flight, every man to his tent.
25:23	[hb5]	以色列王約阿施、在伯示麥擒住約哈斯〔就是亞哈謝〕的孫子約阿施的兒子猶大王亞瑪謝、將他帶到耶路撒冷．又拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆、從以法蓮門、直到角門、共四百肘。
	[kjv]	And Joash the king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, at Bethshemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
	[bbe]	And Joash, king of Israel, made Amaziah, king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, prisoner at Beth-shemesh, and took him to Jerusalem; and he had the wall of Jerusalem pulled down from the doorway of Ephraim to the doorway in the angle, four hundred cubits.
25:24	[hb5]	又將俄別以東所看守　神殿裡的一切金銀、和器皿、與王宮裡的財寶、都拿了去．並帶人去為質、就回撒瑪利亞去了。
	[kjv]	And he took all the gold and the silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of God with Obededom, and the treasures of the king's house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.
	[bbe]	And he took all the gold and silver and all the vessels which were in the house of the Lord, under the care of Obed-edom, and all the wealth from the king's house, as well as those whose lives would be the price of broken faith, and went back to Samaria.
25:25	[hb5]	以色列王約哈斯的兒子約阿施死後、猶大王約阿施的兒子亞瑪謝又活了十五年。
	[kjv]	And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.
	[bbe]	Amaziah, son of Joash, king of Judah, went on living for fifteen years after the death of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel.
25:26	[hb5]	亞瑪謝其餘的事、自始至終、不都寫在猶大和以色列諸王記上麼。
	[kjv]	Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, first and last, behold, are they not written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel?
	[bbe]	Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, first and last, are they not recorded in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel?
25:27	[hb5]	自從亞瑪謝離棄耶和華之後、在耶路撒冷有人背叛他、他就逃到拉吉．叛黨卻打發人到拉吉、將他殺了。
	[kjv]	Now after the time that Amaziah did turn away from following the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him, and slew him there.
	[bbe]	Now from the time when Amaziah gave up worshipping the Lord, they made secret designs against him in Jerusalem; and he went in flight to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him and put him to death there.
25:28	[hb5]	人就用馬將他的屍首馱回、葬在猶大京城、他列祖的墳地裡。
	[kjv]	And they brought him upon horses, and buried him with his fathers in the city of Judah.
	[bbe]	And they took his body on horseback and put it into the earth with his fathers in the town of David.
