11:1	[hgb]	那时，天下人的口音，言语，都是一样。
	[bbe]	And all the earth had one language and one tongue.
11:2	[hgb]	他们往东边迁移的时候，在示拿地遇见一片平原，就住在那里。
	[bbe]	And it came about that in their wandering from the east, they came to a stretch of flat country in the land of Shinar, and there they made their living-place.
11:3	[hgb]	他们彼此商量说，来吧，我们要作砖，把砖烧透了。他们就拿砖当石头，又拿石漆当灰泥。
	[bbe]	And they said one to another, Come, let us make bricks, burning them well. And they had bricks for stone, putting them together with sticky earth.
11:4	[hgb]	他们说，来吧，我们要建造一座城和一座塔，塔顶通天，为要传扬我们的名，免得我们分散在全地上。
	[bbe]	And they said, Come, let us make a town, and a tower whose top will go up as high as heaven; and let us make a great name for ourselves, so that we may not be wanderers over the face of the earth.
11:5	[hgb]	耶和华降临，要看看世人所建造的城和塔。
	[bbe]	And the Lord came down to see the town and the tower which the children of men were building.
11:6	[hgb]	耶和华说，看哪，他们成为一样的人民，都是一样的言语，如今既作起这事来，以后他们所要作的事就没有不成就的了。
	[bbe]	And the Lord said, See, they are all one people and have all one language; and this is only the start of what they may do: and now it will not be possible to keep them from any purpose of theirs.
11:7	[hgb]	我们下去，在那里变乱他们的口音，使他们的言语彼此不通。
	[bbe]	Come, let us go down and take away the sense of their language, so that they will not be able to make themselves clear to one another.
11:8	[hgb]	于是，耶和华使他们从那里分散在全地上。他们就停工，不造那城了。
	[bbe]	So the Lord God sent them away into every part of the earth: and they gave up building their town.
11:9	[hgb]	因为耶和华在那里变乱天下人的言语，使众人分散在全地上，所以那城名叫巴别（就是变乱的意思）。
	[bbe]	So it was named Babel, because there the Lord took away the sense of all languages and from there the Lord sent them away over all the face of the earth.
11:10	[hgb]	闪的后代记在下面。洪水以后二年，闪一百岁生了亚法撒。
	[bbe]	These are the generations of Shem. Shem was a hundred years old when he became the father of Arpachshad, two years after the great flow of waters;
11:11	[hgb]	闪生亚法撒之后，又活了五百年，并且生儿养女。
	[bbe]	And after the birth of Arpachshad, Shem went on living for five hundred years, and had sons and daughters:
11:12	[hgb]	亚法撒活到三十五岁，生了沙拉。
	[bbe]	And Arpachshad was thirty-five years old when he became the father of Shelah:
11:13	[hgb]	亚法撒生沙拉之后，又活了四百零三年，并且生儿养女。
	[bbe]	And after the birth of Shelah, Arpachshad went on living for four hundred and three years, and had sons and daughters:
11:14	[hgb]	沙拉活到三十岁，生了希伯。
	[bbe]	And Shelah was thirty years old when he became the father of Eber:
11:15	[hgb]	沙拉生希伯之后又活了四百零三年，并且生儿养女。
	[bbe]	And after the birth of Eber, Shelah went on living for four hundred and three years, and had sons and daughters:
11:16	[hgb]	希伯活到三十四岁，生了法勒。
	[bbe]	And Eber was thirty-four years old when he became the father of Peleg:
11:17	[hgb]	希伯生法勒之后，又活了四百三十年，并且生儿养女。
	[bbe]	And after the birth of Peleg, Eber went on living for four hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters:
11:18	[hgb]	法勒活到三十岁，生了拉吴。
	[bbe]	And Peleg was thirty years old when he became the father of Reu:
11:19	[hgb]	法勒生拉吴之后，又活了二百零九年，并且生儿养女。
	[bbe]	And after the birth of Reu, Peleg went on living for two hundred and nine years, and had sons and daughters:
11:20	[hgb]	拉吴活到三十二岁，生了西鹿。
	[bbe]	And Reu was thirty-two years old when he became the father of Serug:
11:21	[hgb]	拉吴生西鹿之后，又活了二百零七年，并且生儿养女。
	[bbe]	And after the birth of Serug, Reu went on living for two hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters:
11:22	[hgb]	西鹿活到三十岁，生了拿鹤。
	[bbe]	And Serug was thirty years old when he became the father of Nahor:
11:23	[hgb]	西鹿生拿鹤之后，又活了二百年，并且生儿养女。
	[bbe]	And after the birth of Nahor, Serug went on living for two hundred years, and had sons and daughters:
11:24	[hgb]	拿鹤活到二十九岁，生了他拉。
	[bbe]	And Nahor was twenty-nine years old when he became the father of Terah:
11:25	[hgb]	拿鹤生他拉之后，又活了一百一十九年，并且生儿养女。
	[bbe]	And after the birth of Terah, Nahor went on living for a hundred and nineteen years, and had sons and daughters:
11:26	[hgb]	他拉活到七十岁，生了亚伯兰，拿鹤，哈兰。
	[bbe]	And Terah was seventy years old when he became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
11:27	[hgb]	他拉的后代，记在下面，他拉生亚伯兰，拿鹤，哈兰。哈兰生罗得。
	[bbe]	These are the generations of Terah: Terah was the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran was the father of Lot.
11:28	[hgb]	哈兰死在他的本地迦勒底的吾珥，在他父亲他拉之先。
	[bbe]	And death came to Haran when he was with his father Terah in the land of his birth, Ur of the Chaldees.
11:29	[hgb]	亚伯兰，拿鹤各娶了妻。亚伯兰的妻子名叫撒莱。拿鹤的妻子名叫密迦，是哈兰的女儿。哈兰是密迦和亦迦的父亲。
	[bbe]	And Abram and Nahor took wives for themselves: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah and Iscah.
11:30	[hgb]	撒莱不生育，没有孩子。
	[bbe]	And Sarai had no child.
11:31	[hgb]	他拉带着他儿子，亚伯兰和他孙子，哈兰的儿子罗得，并他儿妇亚伯兰的妻子撒莱，出了迦勒底的吾珥，要往迦南地去。他们走到哈兰，就住在那里。
	[bbe]	And Terah took Abram, his son, and Lot, the son of Haran, and Sarai, his daughter-in-law, the wife of his son Abram and they went out from Ur of the Chaldees, to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran, and were there for some time.
11:32	[hgb]	他拉共活了二百零五岁，就死在哈兰。
	[bbe]	And all the years of Terah's life were two hundred and five: and Terah came to his end in Haran.
