3:1	[hgb]	那时，有施洗的约翰出来，在犹太的旷野传道，说，
	[bbe]	And in those days John the Baptist came preaching in the waste land of Judaea,
3:2	[hgb]	天国近了，你们应当悔改。
	[bbe]	Saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin; for the kingdom of heaven is near.
3:3	[hgb]	这人就是先知以赛亚所说的，他说，在旷野有人声喊着说，预备主的道，修直他的路。
	[bbe]	For this is he of whom Isaiah the prophet said, The voice of one crying in the waste land, Make ready the way of the Lord, make his roads straight.
3:4	[hgb]	这约翰身穿骆驼毛的衣服，腰束皮带，吃的是蝗虫野蜜。
	[bbe]	Now John was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather band about him; and his food was locusts and honey.
3:5	[hgb]	那时，耶路撒冷和犹太全地，并约但河一带地方的人，都出去到约翰那里。
	[bbe]	Then Jerusalem and all Judaea went out to him, and all the people from near Jordan;
3:6	[hgb]	承认他们的罪，在约但河里受他的洗。
	[bbe]	And they were given baptism by him in the river Jordan, saying openly that they had done wrong.
3:7	[hgb]	约翰看见许多法利赛人和撒都该人，也来受洗，就对他们说，毒蛇的种类，谁指示你们逃避将来的忿怒呢？
	[bbe]	But when he saw a number of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Offspring of snakes, at whose word are you going in flight from the wrath to come?
3:8	[hgb]	你们要结出果子来，与悔改的心相称。
	[bbe]	Let your change of heart be seen in your works:
3:9	[hgb]	不要自己心里说，有亚伯拉罕为我们的祖宗。我告诉你们，神能从这些石头中给亚伯拉罕兴起子孙来。
	[bbe]	And say not to yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; because I say to you that God is able from these stones to make children for Abraham.
3:10	[hgb]	现在斧子已经放在树根上，凡不结好果子的树，就砍下来，丢在火里。
	[bbe]	And even now the axe is put to the root of the trees; every tree then which does not give good fruit is cut down, and put into the fire.
3:11	[hgb]	我是用水给你们施洗，叫你们悔改。但那在我以后来的，能力比我更大，我就是给他提鞋，也不配。他要用圣灵与火给你们施洗。
	[bbe]	Truly, I give baptism with water to those of you whose hearts are changed; but he who comes after me is greater than I, whose shoes I am not good enough to take up: he will give you baptism with the Holy Spirit and with fire:
3:12	[hgb]	他手里拿着簸箕，要扬净他的场，把麦子收在仓里，把糠用不灭的火烧尽了。
	[bbe]	In whose hand is the instrument with which he will make clean his grain; he will put the good grain in his store, but the waste will be burned up in the fire which will never be put out.
3:13	[hgb]	当下，耶稣从加利利来到约但河，见了约翰，要受他的洗。
	[bbe]	Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be given baptism by him.
3:14	[hgb]	约翰想要拦住他，说，我当受你的洗，你反倒上我这里来吗？
	[bbe]	But John would have kept him back, saying, It is I who have need of baptism from you, and do you come to me?
3:15	[hgb]	耶稣回答说，你暂且许我。因为我们理当这样尽诸般的义。（或作礼）于是约翰许了他。
	[bbe]	But Jesus made answer, saying to him, Let it be so now: because so it is right for us to make righteousness complete. Then he gave him baptism.
3:16	[hgb]	耶稣受了洗，随即从水里上来。天忽然为他开了，他就看见神的灵，仿佛鸽子降下，落在他身上。
	[bbe]	And Jesus, having been given baptism, straight away went up from the water; and, the heavens opening, he saw the Spirit of God coming down on him as a dove;
3:17	[hgb]	从天上有声音说，这是我的爱子，我所喜悦的。
	[bbe]	And a voice came out of heaven, saying, This is my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.
