| 28:2 | [kjv] | And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. |
| | [hb5] | 土 人 看 待 我 們 、 有 非 常 的 情 分 、 因 為 當 時 下 雨 、 天 氣 又 冷 、 就 生 火 、 接 待 我 們 眾 人 。 |
| 28:3 | [kjv] | And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. |
| | [hb5] | 那 時 、 保 羅 拾 起 一 捆 柴 、 放 在 火 上 、 有 一 條 毒 蛇 、 因 為 熱 了 出 來 、 咬 住 他 的 手 。 |
| 28:4 | [kjv] | And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. |
| | [hb5] | 土 人 看 見 那 毒 蛇 、 懸 在 他 手 上 、 就 彼 此 說 、 這 人 必 是 個 兇 手 、 雖 然 從 海 裡 救 上 來 、 天 理 還 不 容 他 活 著 。 |
| 28:5 | [kjv] | And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. |
| | [hb5] | 保 羅 竟 把 那 毒 蛇 甩 在 火 裡 、 並 沒 有 受 傷 。 |
| 28:6 | [kjv] | Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god. |
| | [hb5] | 土 人 想 他 必 要 腫 起 來 、 或 是 忽 然 仆 倒 死 了 ． 看 了 多 時 、 見 他 無 害 、 就 轉 念 說 、 他 是 個 神 。 |
| 28:7 | [kjv] | In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously. |
| | [hb5] | 離 那 地 方 不 遠 、 有 田 產 是 島 長 部 百 流 的 ． 他 接 納 我 們 、 盡 情 款 待 三 日 。 |
| 28:8 | [kjv] | And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. |
| | [hb5] | 當 時 、 部 百 流 的 父 親 、 患 熱 病 和 痢 疾 躺 著 ． 保 羅 進 去 、 為 他 禱 告 、 按 手 在 他 身 上 、 治 好 了 他 。 |
| 28:9 | [kjv] | So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed: |
| | [hb5] | 從 此 、 島 上 其 餘 的 病 人 、 也 來 得 了 醫 治 。 |
| 28:10 | [kjv] | Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary. |
| | [hb5] | 他 們 又 多 方 的 尊 敬 我 們 ． 到 了 開 船 的 時 候 、 也 把 我 們 所 需 用 的 送 到 船 上 。 |
| 28:11 | [kjv] | And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux. |

| 28:13 | [kjv] | And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli: |

| 28:14 | [kjv] | Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome. |

| 28:15 | [kjv] | And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage. |

| 28:16 | [kjv] | And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him. |

| 28:17 | [kjv] | And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans. |

| 28:18 | [kjv] | Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me. |

| 28:19 | [kjv] | But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of. |

| 28:20 | [kjv] | For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain. |

| 28:21 | [kjv] | And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee. |

| 28:22 | [kjv] | But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against. |
| | [hb5] | 但 我 們 願 意 聽 你 的 意 見 如 何 ． 因 為 這 教 門 、 我 們 曉 得 是 到 處 被 毀 謗 的 。 |
| 28:23 | [kjv] | And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. |

| 28:25 | [kjv] | And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, |

| 28:27 | [kjv] | For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. |

| 28:28 | [kjv] | Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. |
