Isaiah 6:6

Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar :

Hebrews 9:22-26

[9:22] And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. [9:23] It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. [9:24] For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself , now to appear in the presence of God for us: [9:25] Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; [9:26] For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Revelation 6:9

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

Revelation 8:3

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
