REFERENCE LIES BEING TOLD
Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it , lest ye die. (This is the first lie. Nowhere do I find in scripture that Adam and Eve were told NOT to touch it. God said in [Genesis 2:17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it : for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. )
Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die : (This is now the second lie.)

[27:20] And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. [27:21] And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. [27:22] And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. [27:23] And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him. [27:24] And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am. (Jacob lied 3 times to his father Isaac)
Genesis 31:4-7 [31:4] And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock, [31:5] And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me. [31:6] And ye know that with all my power I have served your father. [31:7] And your father hath deceived me , and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me. (Laban had lied to Jacob)
Genesis 39:15-19 [39:14] That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us ; he came in unto me to lie with me , and I cried with a loud voice: [39:15] And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out. [39:16] And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home. [39:17] And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant , which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me : [39:18] And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out. [39:19] And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled. (Potiphar's wife lied to him about Joseph)
Exodus 1:17-19 [1:17] But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive. [1:18] And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive? [1:19] And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them .
Exodus 32:22-24 [32:22] And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief. [32:23] For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. [32:24] And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.

(Rahab lied twice about the 2 spies)
Joshua 9:4-13 [9:3] And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai, [9:4] They did work wilily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up; [9:5] And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and mouldy. [9:6] And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country : now therefore make ye a league with us. [9:7] And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you? [9:8] And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye? [9:9] And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the LORD thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,
See above [9:10] And all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth. [9:11] Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us. [9:12] This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy: [9:13] And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.
I Samuel 10:15-16 [10:15] And Saul's uncle said, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you. [10:16] And Saul said unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses were found. But of the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel spake, he told him not. (Deception by omission)
I Samuel 19:12-14 [19:12] So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped. [19:14] And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick . (Michal lied to her father Saul's men)
I Samuel 20:28-29 [20:6] If thy father at all miss me, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city: for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family. [20:28] And Jonathan answered Saul, David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Bethlehem: [20:29] And he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me to be there : and now, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he cometh not unto the king's table. (Jonathan lied to his father Saul)
I Samuel 21:2, 8 [21:2] And David said unto Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place. [21:8] And David said unto Ahimelech, And is there not here under thine hand spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king's business required haste. (David lied to Ahimelech)
I Samuel 27:7-12 [27:7] And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months. [27:8] And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt. [27:9] And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish. [27:10] And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites. [27:11] And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
See above [27:12] And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever. (David lied to King Achish by telling him that he invaded the south of Judah, when actually David invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites.)
I Samuel 28:8-12 [28:8] And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee. [28:9] And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die? [28:10] And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing. [28:11] Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel. [28:12] And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. II Samuel 16:3-4, 19:25-26, 21:7 [16:3] And the king said, And where is thy master's son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father. (where is Mephibosheth?) [16:4] Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech thee that I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king. [19:25] And it came to pass, when he was come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said unto him, Wherefore wentest not thou with me, Mephibosheth? [19:26] And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me : for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant is lame. (Actually, Mephibosheth lied to David.) [21:7] But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
II Samuel 17:20 And when Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said unto them, They be gone over the brook of water . [5:22] And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments. [5:23] And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him. [5:24] And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed. [5:25] But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither. (Gehazi lied to Naaman and to Elisha.)

[8:8] And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease? [8:9] So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Benhadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease? [8:10] And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the LORD hath shewed me that he shall surely die . [8:11] And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.
See above [8:12] And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child. [8:13] And Hazael said , But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria. [8:14] So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surely recover. [8:15] And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
II Kings 10:19 Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty , to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.

And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller's field. [18:18] And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder. [18:25] Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

[38:24] Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die. [38:25] But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee: [38:26] Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there.

[5:3] But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? [5:4] Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. [5:7] And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. [5:8] And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much . (Ananias & Sapphira lied to Peter and the Holy Ghost.)
