Genesis 21:19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink. (Hagar)
Genesis 24:12-15 [24:12] And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham. [24:13] Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: [24:14] And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master. [24:15] And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. (Abraham's eldest servant met Rebekah at a well.)
Genesis 29:2-11 [29:2] And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well's mouth. [29:3] And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well's mouth in his place. [29:4] And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we. [29:5] And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him. [29:6] And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep. [29:7] And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them. [29:8] And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well's mouth; then we water the sheep.

[29:10] And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother. [29:11] And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.
Exodus 2:15-21 [2:15] Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well. [2:16] Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock. [2:17] And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. [2:18] And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day? [2:19] And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock. [2:20] And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread. [2:21] And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.
II Samuel 17:17-19 [17:17] No w Jonathan and Ahimaaz s tayed by Enrogel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a wench went and told them; and they went and told king David. [17:18] Nevertheless a lad saw them, and told Absalom: but they went both of them away quickly, and came to a man's house in Bahurim, which had a well in his court; whither they went down. [17:19] And the woman took and spread a covering over the well's mouth, and spread ground corn thereon; and the thing was not known. ( A woman in Bahurim hid Jonothan & Ahimaaz in a well.)
II Samuel 23:15-16 [23:15] And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate! [23:16] And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
I Chronicles 11:17-18 [11:17] And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate! [11:18] And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD,
Jeremiah 38:6 Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire. (The dungeon of Malchiah was probably similar to an old well, just maybe bigger.)
John 4:6-10 [4:6] Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. [4:7] There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. [4:8] (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) [4:9] Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. [4:10] Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
