|For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
|My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
|For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
|His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity .
|The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things :
|He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
|Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
|And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
|The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment .

|My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword .
|Who whet their tongue like a sword , and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:
|I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
|My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.
|For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
|My tongue shall speak of thy word : for all thy commandments are righteousness.
|[120:2] Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue. [120:3] What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
|A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
|To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
|The tongue of the just is as choice silver : the heart of the wicked is little worth.
|The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
|[12:18] There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword : but the tongue of the wise is health. [12:19] The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
|The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright : but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
|A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
|A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.
|He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.
|Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
|The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
|The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.
|A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
|He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
|She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness .
|For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
|I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
|For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
|And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.
|Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
|Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

|[3:5] Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things . Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! [3:6] And the tongue is a fire , a world of iniquity : so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and s etteth on fire the course of nature ; and it is set on fire of hell. [3:7] For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: [3:8] But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison . [3:9] Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. [3:10] Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing . My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
