   [kjv] Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
   [bbe] Come and take your seat in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; come down from your seat of power, and take your place on the earth, O daughter of the Chaldaeans: for you will never again seem soft and delicate.

   [kjv] Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
   [bbe] Take the crushing-stones and get the meal crushed: take off your veil, put away your robe, let your legs be uncovered, go through the rivers.
47:3[hb5] §A ªº ¤U Åé ¥² ³Q ÅS ¥X ¡B §A ªº Áà ­® ¥² ³Q ¬Ý ¨£ ¡D §Ú ­n ³ø ¤³ ¡B ½Ö ¤] ¤£ ¼e ®e ¡C
   [kjv] Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.
   [bbe] The shame of your unclothed condition will be seen by all: I will give punishment without mercy,

   [kjv] As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
   [bbe] Says the Lord who takes up our cause; the Lord of armies is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

   [kjv] Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.
   [bbe] Be seated in the dark without a word, O daughter of the Chaldaeans: for you will no longer be named, The Queen of Kingdoms.

   [kjv] I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
   [bbe] I was angry with my people, I put shame on my heritage, and gave them into your hands: you had no mercy on them; you put a cruel yoke on those who were old;
47:7[hb5] §A ¦Û ¤v »¡ ¡B §Ú ¥² ¥Ã ¬° ¥D ¥À ¡B ©Ò ¥H §A ¤£ ±N ³o ¨Æ ©ñ ¦b ¤ß ¤W ¡B ¤] ¤£ «ä ·Q ³o ¨Æ ªº µ² §½ ¡C
   [kjv] And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
   [bbe] And you said, I will be a queen for ever: you did not give attention to these things, and did not keep in mind what would come after.
47:8[hb5] §A ³o ±M ¦n ®b ¼Ö ¡B ¦w µM ©~ ¦í ªº ¡B ²{ ¦b ·í Å¥ ³o ¸Ü ¡B §A ¤ß ¤¤ »¡ ¡B ±© ¦³ §Ú ¡B °£ §Ú ¥H ¥~ ¦A ¨S ¦³ §O ªº ¡B §Ú ¥² ¤£ ¦Ü ¹è ©~ ¡B ¤] ¤£ ¾D ³à ¤l ¤§ ¨Æ ¡C
   [kjv] Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
   [bbe] So now take note of this, you who are given up to pleasure, living without fear of evil, saying in your heart, I am, and there is no one like me; I will never be a widow, or have my children taken from me.
47:9[hb5] ¨º ª¾ ³à ¤l ¡B ¹è ©~ ¡B ³o ¨â ¥ó ¨Æ ¡B ¦b ¤@ ¤é Âà ²´ ¤§ ¶¡ ¥² Á{ ¨ì §A ¡B ¥¿ ¦b §A ¦h ¦æ ¨¸ ³N ¡B ¼s ¬I ²Å ©G ªº ®É ­Ô ¡B ³o ¨â ¥ó ¨Æ ¥² ¥þ µM Á{ ¨ì §A ¨­ ¤W ¡C
   [kjv] But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
   [bbe] But these two things will come on you suddenly in one day, the loss of children and of husband: in full measure they will come on you, for all your secret arts, and all your wonders.

   [kjv] For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.
   [bbe] For you had faith in your evil-doing; you said, No one sees me; by your wisdom and knowledge you have been turned out of the way: and you have said in your heart, I am, and there is no other.

   [kjv] Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.
   [bbe] Because of this evil will come on you, which may not be turned away for any price: and trouble will overtake you, from which no money will give salvation: destruction will come on you suddenly, without your knowledge.

   [kjv] Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
   [bbe] Go on now with your secret arts, and all your wonder-working, to which you have given yourself up from your earliest days; it may be that they will be of profit to you, or by them you may put fear into your attackers.
47:13[hb5] §A Äw ¹º ¤Ó ¦h ¡B ¥H ¦Ü ¯h ­Â ¡D Åý ¨º ¨Ç Æ[ ¤Ñ ¶H ªº ¡B ¬Ý ¬P ±J ªº ¡B ¦b ¤ë ®Ò »¡ ¹w ¨¥ ªº ¡B ³£ ¯¸ °_ ¨Ó ¡B ±Ï §A ²æ Â÷ ©Ò ­n Á{ ¨ì §A ªº ¨Æ ¡C
   [kjv] Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
   [bbe] But your mind is troubled by the number of your guides: let them now come forward for your salvation: the measurers of the heavens, the watchers of the stars, and those who are able to say from month to month what things are coming on you.
47:14[hb5] ¥L ­Ì ­n ¹³ ¸H ÖÅ ³Q ¤õ µI ¿N ¡B ¤£ ¯à ±Ï ¦Û ¤v ²æ Â÷ ¤õ µK ¤§ ¤O ¡B ³o ¤õ ¨Ã «D ¥i ¯N ªº ¬´ ¤õ ¡B ¤] ¤£ ¬O ¥i ¥H §¤ ¦b ¨ä «e ªº ¤õ ¡C
   [kjv] Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
   [bbe] Truly, they have become like dry stems, they have been burned in the fire; they are not able to keep themselves safe from the power of the flame: it is not a coal for warming them, or a fire by which a man may be seated.
47:15[hb5] §A ©Ò ³Ò ¯« ªº ¨Æ ¡B ³£ ­n ³o ¼Ë »P §A µL ¯q ¡D ±q ¥® ¦~ »P §A ¶T ©ö ªº ¡B ¤] ³£ ¦U ©b ¦U ¶m ¡B µL ¤H ±Ï §A ¡C
   [kjv] Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
   [bbe] Small profit have you had from those who, from your earliest days, got great profit out of you; they have gone in flight, every one straight before him, and you have no saviour.
